Dr. Omer Joe Looper obituary
TULSA–Dr. Omer Joe Looper, 87, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28. He was born Jan. 7, 1927 to Omer and Blache Looper in Poteau.
He attended The University of Georgia, University of Oklahoma, and ultimately attained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Kansas City University of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced family medicine in Heavener and Miami for many years, was a Navy veteran, member of the American Legion, Lion’s Club, and past president of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medical Association.
Funeral services are Monday at 10 a.m. at the Ninde Brookside Chapel in Tulsa. Interment will be at the Hartford Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m., under the direction of Ninde Funeral and Cremation.
He was preceded in death by his spouses, Maxine Looper and Janice Looper; parents, Omer Jennings and Blanch Amanda Looper; and his siblings, Vance Looper and Mildred Shaw.
He is survived by his three children; Mary Ivylyn Looper, Felda Kathryn Looper and John Franklin Looper; five grandchildren, Chelsea Looper-Stockwell, John Hamilton Looper, Michael Looper, Owen Looper, and Sarah Hudson; and one great grandchild, Brock Looper.
