HEAVENER–Billy Joe Kinsey, 83, of Heavener passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 in Heavener. He was born June 20, 1931 in Poteau to Abe and Willie (Davis) Kinsey, retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and taught and coached at the Heavener Public Schools.
He was beloved by generations of children and young adults that he taught and coached.
Memorial service is Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Heavener First Baptist Church, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erika Kinsey; brothers, Allen and Jimmy Kinsey; son-in-law, Irvin Benson; and a grandson, Johnathon Pugh.
Survivors include his daughters, Evelyn Pugh and husband John of Heavener, Marilyn Hall and husband Chris of Wister, and Carolyn Benson of Heavener; sons, Billy Wayne Kinsey, and David Kinsey and wife Fay, all of Panama; sisters, Frances Sisco and husband Al of Bayonet Point, Fla., Carolyn Schreibvogl and husband Steve of Austin, Cynthia Waldridge and husband Walter of McAlester and Sonya Kinsey of Calhoun; brothers, Michael R. Kinsey, Larry D. Kinsey, Charles Kinsey and wife Karen, and Loyd R. Kinsey and wife Teresa Cherry; grandchildren, Christy Crouch, Justin Benson and wife Moriah, Bucky Pugh, Zac Hall, Jeremey Pugh, Monica Wilson and husband Sean, Kristal Phillips and husband Marvin, Kayla Kinsey, Jonathan Kinsey, Matt Kinsey and Kourtney Kinsey; and great grandchildren, Kinsey and Conner Peck, Miciah Benson, Emily Martinez, Aiden Phillips, Madison and Maddox Rogers.
