POTEAU–Doyle Walden, 72, of Poteau passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born March 12, 1942 in LeFlore to William Andrew and Lurahree Eugenia (Allison) Walden, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a conductor/brakeman for the railroad.
Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Reichert Cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jack Walden; and stepson, Donald Sockey.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of the home; children, Terri McLaughlin of Alliance, Neb., Jennifer Harden of Fort Smith, Tim Walden of Clarksville, Iowa and Stacy Blaylock of Panama; stepsons, Michael Sockey of Poteau and Edward Sockey of Shady Point; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers are his railroad buddies.
The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. to visit with friends and relatives.
