PANAMA–Howard Ray Goins, 76, of Panama passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 in Poteau. He was born May 9, 1938 in Panama to Otto and Ola Mae (Sherfield) Goins, was a heavy equipment operator and a Navy veteran.
Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. Charlie Scott officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Panama, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Goins; granddaughter, RaeLena Shelton; special son-in-law, Randy Shelton; siblings, Levenia Newel, Orville Goins, Linda Goins, Ethelene Covey and Pauline Cox.
Survivors include his children, Pam Shelton of Poteau and Clayton Goins of Panama; grandchildren, Randa Piovesan, Andrea Shelton, Kaylin, Darcy and Jordan Goins; great grandchildren, John Riley Piovesan and Kolby Micheal Bray; siblings, Arnold Goins of Panama, Evelyn Hanna and husband A.J. of Cameron, Anna Sue Hensley and husband Jerry of Panama, Lola Seaton of Spiro, Bill Goins and wife Freda of Shady Point, and David Goins of Panama; and special dear friend, Doris Beschoner of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers are Alan Hensley, Justin Montgomery, Chuck Ryder, Jerry Hensley, Charlie Scott and Michael Scott.
The family will be at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. to visit with relatives and friends.
