Heavener will try to send its seniors out with a win and shake up the district standings when the Wolves host Idabel on Friday.
This is the final game of the year for Heavener and Senior Night. The Wolves will honor all the seniors prior to the game.
Heavener was eliminated from the playoffs, but still has plenty to play for against the Warriors. The Wolves want to give the seniors a win in their final game, build momentum for 2015 and also put a kink into the playoffs.
Idabel is in the playoffs, but could still finish anywhere from second to fourth depending on Friday’s results. In other 3A-8 games on Friday, district leader Eufaula travels to Roland in a game which will decide the district championship, Spiro hosts Valliant and Stigler is at Victory Christian in a non-district game.
Eufaula is 5-0 in district play, Roland is 4-1, Idabel and Spiro are both 3-2, Stigler is 2-4, Heavener is 1-4 and Valliant is 0-5. Idabel defeated Spiro while Roland downed the Warriors. If there is a three-way tie for second, it will come down to points where Roland has a big advantage.
Vian defeated Panama, 63-7, in the only county game played on Thursday, giving the Wolverines second place in the district and a home playoff game. Panama finishes third and will be on the road to start the playoffs.
In LeFlore County games on Friday, Caddo is at Arkoma, Bokoshe visits Fox, Tulsa Central goes to Poteau, Pocola travels to Hartshorne and Talihina hosts Central Sallisaw.
