Four LeFlore County football teams will advance to the first round of the state playoffs next week.
Talihina is the only team at home after wrapping up the district championship with a 58-8 win over Central Sallisaw on Friday. The Golden Tigers (9-0) will host Quapaw (5-5) in the first round of the playoffs.
Poteau (6-4) finished third in the district after a 41-6 win over Tulsa Central on Friday. The Pirates visit Wagoner (6-4) in the first round.
Spiro improved to 7-2 with a 47-7 blowout of Valliant. The Bulldogs finished fourth in 3A-8 and will travel to take on top-ranked Locust Grove (10-0) in the first round.
Panama came in third in 2A-6 after Thursday’s 63-7 loss at Vian. The 7-3 Razorbacks visit Chandler (7-3) in the first round.
In other games on Friday, Idabel was too much for Heavener (see STORY), Hartshorne blasted Pocola, 48-6, Arkoma lost to Caddo, 70-20, and Bokoshe lost to Fox, 46-0.
