It’s the day after the general election and our day to get the newspaper printed.
That means it has been a busy two days here at the old Ledger. I was at the election board office until around 9 p.m. last night getting the results from voting here in LeFlore County.
All the elections pretty much went as I expected. I did think Curtis McDaniel would win the senate position from the southern part of the county, but was wrong there as Joseph Silk was elected.
Surprisingly, there did not seem to be as much interest in the election yesterday as there was in the previous elections.
I did my best to update the results as they came in, but the election board office does not get good reception and I was sending texts to Jerry Pitchford, who did the updates on Facebook. Thanks Mr. Pitchford. As always, your help was greatly appreciated.
Since I was covering the election, that meant no basketball games for me last night. I had considered going to the Howe games with Cameron, but there is only one of me and I have not figured out how to be in two different places at the same time.
My mind? Yes. Body? No. So I got the results from coaches and David Seeley of the PDN. Special thanks to Holly Cooper for the picture from the Howe game. She has always been a great help with pictures.
Last week of football for Heavener this week, unless you count the Wolf Pups. If they win on Saturday, they make the league finals a week from Saturday.
The Wolves host Idabel and hopefully there is a good crowd for the final game of the season. Plus, let’s hope it isn’t as cold. My body does not do cold as well as it used to do. Once the weather gets bad, I’m ready for basketball. Then, when the weather starts warming up, I get geared up for the spring sports.
Try to have a good day, okay? Plus, pick you up a Ledger this evening. It goes to a really special cause. Ideas, suggestion, comments, etc., please send an email to [email protected]
