By CRAIG HALL
It’s Tuesday and two days away from Thanksgiving.
We only have two feastings scheduled, one for Wednesday afternoon and another on Thursday so hopefully not too much bloating and cramping going on.
A reminder that the Ledger will be printed and delivered or mailed on Wednesday. Since Thursday is a holiday, your paper will be a little late getting to you.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, be sure and get this week’s edition to read the how to cook a turkey section. These letters from the little ones are great. We have letters from Heavener along with Hodgen, Howe and Wister.
Lots of interesting recipes and cooking techniques. For some of the little ones, they did a what they are thankful for instead. These letters are also good.
Still plenty of time to get in the Christmas parade on Dec. 6 for Heavener and Poteau. The Heavener parade starts at 2 p.m. while Poteau’s parade is at 6 p.m. Howe also is holding a parade this year on Dec. 13, the first one for the community in a long time.
We will have the preview for the Heavener girls in this week’s Ledger along with a basketball roundup for county teams. Coach Paul Moore is optimistic about the Lady Wolves’ chances, as he should be with everybody back along with the addition of a freshman group which won the junior high LCT last year.
Both Heavener teams open on Dec. 2 in the Hartford tournament.
We need some help at the Ledger. Actually, we need an advertising representative along with correspondents for the area. If you are interested, please come by our office at 507 E. First Street in Heavener or send an email to [email protected]
I would really like to have somebody from Howe and Wister to help cover events and send in information from those two fine communities.
Have a good day. Send your stories, suggestions, comments, etc. by calling the Ledger at (918) 653-2425, email us at [email protected] or come by the office.
