It’s Monday and a windy one it will be with wind gusts up to 25 mph. That leads us up to a drastic drop in temperatures on Tuesday with a high of only 47 and low of 31.
Eek. But that is to be expected for November. One day we will have a high in the 70s and the next a high in the 40s.
Got a bit of a problem for this evening. The Heavener school board and city council are both holding meetings Monday at 6 p.m. This is the regular monthly meeting of the school board and a special meeting for city council.
Since I attended the council meeting last week, I will be at the school board meeting, but will check on Tuesday morning to find out what happened at the council meeting.
We are having some issues with the leflorecountyjournal.com and its server. So we posted all our stories on heavenerledger.com this morning. Hopefully you enjoyed the additional content.
The Heavener news, sports and information will always be our main priority, but for the Ledger to thrive, I do believe we are going to expand our coverage base to bring in more subscribers and advertisers.
The Heavener Wolf Pups play Booneville on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Paris for the league championship. I plan to make the trip to the city of lights, as in the Paris, Ark., version, not the France or Texas one. I believe this might be my first trip to Paris.
Heavener plays some schools that are very good once they get into high schools. The Wolf Pups fare pretty well with them, also. That leads to the question on what happens once the players get bigger.
I believe a lot of it is the result of the coaching and emphasis the Arkansas schools put on football, especially to the players in the junior high grades. And if Heavener is going to be good every year in football, the younger players need more time to practice, not that it is easy with the schedule the way it is.
Just a reminder the Heavener Lions Club meets at 5 p.m. on Monday at Simple Simon’s. If you want to be a part of a really good civic organization, come and visit today or whenever you have time.
The Lions does need new and younger members to keep the club going for years to come. I have been a part of many civic organizations and the Heavener Lions Club is as good as any.
