POTEAU–The LeFlore County Veterans Association is proud to present “Remembering Our Fallen” at the Patrick Lynch Public Library in Poteau from Nov. 5 through Nov. 8.
“Remembering Our Fallen” is an emotional experience you won’t want to miss. The exhibition gives individual honor to the brave men and women who answered the call of duty in the shadow of Sept. 11, 2001 in Iraq and Afghanistan. Its legacy will be that these men and women will never be forgotten and that their names will be remembered and spoken.
There is a feeling of ‘disconnect’ between those we ask to serve our military objectives and our society at large. This exhibit makes that connection very dramatically and helps us understand the magnitude of their sacrifices. It is sobering. So many heroes, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, from Oklahoma. American service men and women who gave the ultimate during the War against Terrorism.
The exhibit is sponsored by The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute & Museum, Patriotic Production, and Bellevue University. The exhibition displays mounted photographs of all Oklahoma soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the War on Terror to protect our freedoms.
