The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a freeze warning for Friday night through Saturday morning.
The effect is from 11 p.m. on Friday through 10 a.m. on Saturday. The warning is for LeFlore, Okfuskee, Pittsburg, Sequoyah, McIntosh, Latimer and Haskell counties in Oklahoma. In Arkansas, the counties are Crawford, Sebastian and Franklin.
A much cooler Canadian air mass will settle over the area on Friday with temperatures dropping into the upper 20s by Saturday morning. Temperatures could drop into the mid 20s in lower lying valley areas.
These conditions will kill plants and other tender vegetation left outdoors or unprotected. Outdoor water pipes should be wrapped, drained or allowed to run in a slow steady stream. If you have plants, small trees or tender vegetation, you should either bring them inside or cover them.
Small pets should be brought indoors or outside pets should have a warm, dry shelter with sufficient food and fresh water.
